Things to consider... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Sun, 10 Feb 2008 13:09:30 In Reply to: Re: Knock sensor, Steve s, Sun, 10 Feb 2008 10:19:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Ok, so maybe the dealer wrench isn't all he/she should be...
BUT, there are some items to check:
1) What grade gas are you using? Though Trionic cars can run on low octane gas, they're really not intended to for long periods, particularly if you've got a turbo. Could you have gotten a bad batch of gas from some place?
2) have you changed the spark plugs recently? If they have been replaced, were they replaced with the Saab recommended NGK plugs? Almost anyone who has had a problem with plugs has installed the wrong plugs. With the knock detection part of the DI, the DI is expecting the right plugs to be used.
3) vacuum lines. Look at the diagram under the hood, and make sure all the vacuum lines have continuity, and that none are leaking.
Look into these items, and maybe the problem is there.
