I have been experiencing the following problem:
- When attempting to accelerate on highway, the engine will suddenly rev to about 3500 - 4000rpms then drop back to about 2500-3000. It actually feels like the turbo rapidly boost the drops boost instead of holding. Even though this happens, the car accelerate as desired. It seems like the initial request for more power triggers this reaction, then it performs as expected. e.g. If I'm driving 65 and desire to go 75, this event will occur but if I keep pushing for 85, the car performs without incident.
I am wondering if the SMBC I installed is the culprit. I have check for vacuum leak -- found none -- and have clamped all vac. hoses well. Though, I am still suspicious of the connection between the SMBC and the BPC. There is size mis-match between the respective barbs (nipples). I am leery of the SMBC since backing off its setting has help greatly. The problem use to happen in lower gears but now happen only at highway speeds.
What do you all think? All thoughts will be greatly appreciated..
