Andrea,
I personally drive a 1998 Saab 900S myself. With the exeption of a few minor problems (which ALWAYS have manifested themselves with warning signs far ahead in advance, so to give you enough time to address and fix the issue BEFORE it gets you completely broken down and stuck on the road) I found it to be the most reliable and stress-free car I've ever driven! Again, let me stress, it's NOT a perfect car...it's got its quirks and eccentricies. I've had to change the idler puller twice, the alternator twice, an oxygen sensor and the muffler, not to mention the intermediate pipe of the exhaust. But hey, for a 10 year old car with 145,000 miles on it, what do you expect? Overall, I can tell you this: I am NOT getting rid of this car anytime soon!
Best of Luck to you Andrea!
