i believe what xboostreapx is saying is that now that your suspension has been replaced, the "toe in" has been changed meaning the angle of the tire too the road. If the repair of your struts increased this, you would have less tire on the road, therefore requiring more force to brake, however your steering would be much more responsive.
I however tend to agree with AlaskanViggen, it would be very easy to get some grease or oil in on the brake pads when doing the struts, as they most likely removed the calipers to replace the struts. I also find it hard to believe that replacing your struts would effect your camber or "toe in" to the point where it is that noticable, or at all.
I'd try a few fast stops and see if braking improves (burning oil/grease off) or just let your mechanic sort it out.
