major pain to replace -- will have to disassemble practically the entire console to access the part -- the plastic slide cover/blind is molded and interlocks with the shift position indicator strip
the shift knob is removed by a small screw (torxhead) under the shift/release button -- it will probably strip out when removed...
you will have to unsolder (and resolder) the wires that attach to the S shift button...routing the wires so the insulation isn't cut is also critical
even if its not cold, you can count on breaking a lot of plastic parts/inserts -- wouldn't attempt it unless at least 80F
consider replacing the light bulb in the shift indicator while you have it apart...
