One thing you could do is put a washer or something on the end of the cable to shorten it. Right at the lever where the clutch cable attaches I use a lock washer that i spread it apart just enough to slide around the cable. - Once i attach it, in between the cable and lever it will make the clutch release a lot higher on the peddle. After i do that i always rap tape around the end where i put the washer. - Not sure if that is the technical way to do it, but i really don't like where the automatic adjust thing leaves the release like you said, close to the floor. - Then after time when the cable stretches, the clutch will be useless...hope that help - Paul
