Oil consumption has been a slight side affect of updating the vent systems in my experience. ( I've installed about 30 #6's over the past 2 years). Usually less than 1 quart in 3-5k miles. Another side affect has been much better oil condition maintained at oil change intervals, and reduced or stopped oil leaks from the timimg cover/ headgasket area. IMO the breather updates are absolutely necessary for engine reliabilty in all T7 cars, no matter what. Tests have shown that the original breather system flows zero ccm idling, and that means all the blowby from the T7 engines just sits there in the oil, and creates large amounts of sludge, and destroys the lubricating properties of the engine oil. The new kit flows about 100x as much. The oil consumption may have always been a factor, but the used oil was being replaced by unburnt fuel, condensation, etc, that wasn't being vented properly.
