Just returned- it was close to, but not exactly, what I suspected. Their rerouting of hoses put pressure on an HVAC hose related to idle control- causing it to go bad. It was quickly diagnosed and repaired at no charge. When I first started it up the idle was a little high and there was some [gentle] shudder but it seemed to sort itself out the longer I drove and the idle was down to 900 RPM with the engine power I had become accustomed to. Fingers crossed- I hope this repair holds!
Side note- this is third time I had to go back to a mechanic's for not getting the repair right the first time. At least one of them had the excuse of not being a Saab specialist- but two of them were. What the deuce!
At this point I'm looking long and hard at dealer servicing even with their higher labor rates.
