Andrew, I'm looking at getting an 01 or 02 9-3 SE or Viggen. I found one with only 25K on the clock. I run this by an indie, and he says to run away from this car. It probably has major electrical problems that the PO never solved and unloaded the car. I test drove it and the back power windows, and the sunroof did not work, both fronts did( but the auto down function did not)
After doing any extensive search on Saabnet, I ran across quite a few electrical gremlins that, for the most part, were solved by replacing he ingition switch and making sure the ground is good. Whereas the Indie says some had bad main wiring harness'.
I'm going to go look at that car again and put in my 9000 window switchpack in and see if that solves the issue. Everything else on the car was good.
Personally, I'd not heard that the 00-02 9-3's were plagued with electrical problems. Maybe someone with more experience with them can enlighten us.
Good Luck!
