Hello again
Some of you may remeber my post withing the past month about electronic issues with my 9-3. I would really like to get some issues sorted out with my 9-3 cause its getting warmer around here. I really appreciate your inputs, and leads because I am tring to avoid a shop visit as I really would like to learn to do things myself. These are the issues...
1. ACC panel no longer lights up, or responds to my commands. I changed out ACC panel and the Known working one would not light up either. Before the panel went dead it would light up but not respond to inputs. There was no code when the local saab shop tried to read with a tech2 he said all climate control funtions apperred normal. The fan does still blow air constantly, up at the windshield. I dont know if the fan is blowing or air is just coming in through a draft, while the car is moving. The heat is on the highest setting.
Last week I cleaned out the debrinear the cabin air filter, replaced the filter, and the fan didnt seem, to be jammed, as it spun freely. I replaced the ACC Controller in november. Could this be a issue again? Does anybody have any suggestions on ware to start looking for the fault?
2. The second issue is a running problem. When I start the car in the am. The car will idle fine and steady, with no smoke or smell. After the car has heated up fully and I stop at a drive through, or red light, the idel will dip and the oil lamp will fade in and out. Never enough to trigger the warning triangle"sound". If i dont rev the engine when stopped the car will stall in about 10-30 seconds after I stop. If I give it a small amount of gas(1100 RPM). The car wont stall but will start to produce blue smoke, and a bad smell. When I drive off the smoke stops. When I shut the car off after it heats up the car will smoke blue until I drive off, and the smoke will stop. The car never smokes While I drive. My turbo is relativly new, and smpools up well. In December the Mechanic replaced: Turbo Oil return hose, to the engine block: Air intake hose to intake valve: Air intake hose to the turbo, from air filter. The car never stalled before the trip to the mechanic. But it did smoke prior. The car does need the Valve gasket replaced which I am planning to do this weekend weather premitting. But I dont think that the VCG is the cause of all the smoke? Could this be a PCV issue? I looked for a kit for the upgarde with marginal success. I found update#6 but only for T7, my car is a T5. Is there a Kit for the 1999, with a T5.
Would like to short out these issues cause the car really does drive beautifully, and I love the car but it just seems liek issue after issue with this thing. I have a haynes manual for the 9-3 as a refrence, that anybody with input could refer to. agian any input is greatly appreiciated.
