Air seems to be the trouble with dexcool. The saab has a sealed and pressurized system and it is almost impossible for air to get in. My dexcool is the same color as the day it was installed. I also have 97 buick that came with dexcool. Buick has a traditional overflow system and if you don't keep an eye on things, coolant can get low. There always is a little bit of slime around the radiator cap. Keep things topped up and it is not a problem. In my research it appears that people have had major trouble with dexcool when the radiator is about 3/4 full and a lot of air is in the system. Over time without checking on it, dexcool boils down to a sickly, rusty sludge. Long story short, the saab cooling system design should prevent this from happening.
