Hi all, I have an '02 9-3 SE with 62k miles that sputters in the middle of driving and sometimes dies while idling. I just had the DI cassette replaced because I was told that that was bad. However, my car still cranks but does not fire up sometimes unless I let it sit for about five minutes untouched. I just had the fuel filler hose repaired because I am told that the was a hole in it. I think debris may have entered the fuel system and either be clogging the fuel filter or damaged the fuel pump. Since I am told that the fuel pump is one (of many) Saab parts that commonly fail, I was wondering if anybody could steer me in right direction of what to check first. Should it be the filter? Then if that does not work, check the pump? If the pump is in need of repair, is it worth changing the pump alone, or is it better to change the assembly. Finally, which manufacturer of a pump or assembly is recommended? or to say away from? Thanks!
