plastic in engine

Question...I was replacing a loose vacuum line, the one that runs from the intake manifold to the brake booster. The line is held in place by a red plastic ring in the intake manifold. As I was pulling the red circular clip out, one of the little prongs broke off and fell into the manifold and GULP maybe into a cylinder. I'd say the piece that broke is about 3mm X 3mm in area
A. Will this piece of plastic destroy my engine or is it OK to let it in there?
B. What is the best way to get it out?
