I have a creaking noise in my front end that needs diagnosis... Squeaks/groans come from the front end whenever moving: heard loudest when turning steering wheel during driveway maneuvers, going over slow speed bumps, or just often even just when kneeling on the front bumper (both R & L side). It sounds like either squeaking rubber on metal (bushings), or like creaking rust in joints, but which? Steering rack or knuckles, balljoints, stanchion bushings...what/where? I can't locate the source of noise from under the car.

The car drives normally -- no wandering or abnormal tire wear. Any ideas?

Note: Not prepared to drop subframe for 9-3 upgrade kit yet -- just looking for DIY fix. Scrapyard parts ideas are welcome.

1994 900 2.3 Auto, 2dr coupe, only 131K miles
-original suspension config.
-struts/mounts replaced at 110k (with new balljoint boots)
-Southern car ...just had its first full NE winter.
