2001 Saab 9-3 2.0L 110K miles.
Made it to Oklahoma from Alabama, but while out here (yesterday) it appears the AC decided to blow hot air after five (5) minutes. Seems turning the AC off and back on allow a little bit more cold air to blow out, but that didn't work for long (~15 min).
Had persistent problems with the AC over the past 4 yrs. Last time (about 1 yr ago) dealer replaced the evaporator core to try to fix the leak. Think I had the low side and high side schrader valves replaced a little prior to that.
Seems the leak is still there as the dealer in Tulsa, Ok, who slide us in at 3:30 p.m. right before travels on the 4th of July (yeah!), added 1.0 lb of freon (or at least that's what they said). Hopefully that will last us on the trip back to Alabama.
I guess this is part of the deal with owning a 2001 Saab 9-3. I guess it is back to square 1, dye test, drive for a while, try to fix, unsuccessful, dye test, repeat. Ugh.
