I should think it would....I've seen many with high mileage, of course they have to have been well taken care of. Yeah it is the same engine. It's a pretty solid engine. It had some crankcase ventilation issues, and the PCV upgrade 6 is the final one and should be done as well, if it hasn't already. Obviously the sludge issue as well, but as long as you have service records you should be okay...(I'd still remove the valve cover, especially at that mileage).
Most people say Viggens are driven hard...so you've got to look out for obvious things that make it obvious whether or not the owner took care of it. I can't really think of anything else that's Viggen-specific. Rotors? They are special for the Viggen, a bit more expensive...maybe check if you can still see the slots, and if you can't...well, you know. Oh, and the bolster on the front seats tend to get worn down quite fast, so keep an eye out for the left bolster on the driver's side.
