This just happened to me tonight and I have been trying to narrow the issue down. I recently had the clutch replaced and a compete tune up and everything seemed to be in great working condition. When I got into my car after work it started right up and I met my wife for a class we are taking. After the class the car would not start. The starter seemed to be cranking away just fine but the car would not turn over. Fortunately it is a five speed and we were able to pop start it. It drove home just fine and when I put it in the driveway and turned the car off I was able to immediately start it aging however; after about two hours I went to try and start it again and the same thing happened it cranks but will not turn over. Everything else seems normal; there are no clicking sounds, or burning smells. No whirring noise of a starter on its way out. Anybody have any ideas? This is a 1998 900S if that helps.
