I had posted earlier about grinding and occasional squeaking after I had new front brake rotors and pads put in. I took the car back to the mechanic's and he said some plate or backing needed to be removed. I don't remember what he said exactly. The noise is gone now and the brakes work fine.
What was this that they removed and did they just forget something really simple? Will my pads or rotors have less life as a result of this mistake and 90 miles of driving?
Thanks in advance for any input,
Atul
