I used to have lowering springs (poly bushings with other goodies to "tighten-up" the car) but went back to stock since I am tired of dealing and losing to potholes. Damages are one to many to list. I started to worry that with lowered springs the busted strut mounts may become part of my scheduled maintenance.
Now, I have Bilstein HDs with stock SE springs. The ride is rough but managable with the SE springs.
My point is that the roads we travel, in the US, are not designed and built to de driven. These roads are designed for commerce.
That's what I have learned, and I may go back to OEM shocks for peace of mind. We shall see . . .
