Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected -- Impact Buying Decision

I am in the process of hunting down a SAAB to use as a daily driver
(SAAB #7) so I can ease off use of my '88 Saab Convertible.
Found an interesting deal on a 1997 SAAB 900 SE Turbo. The owner
noted, the car was given him to operate. He noted the CEL was on.
He didn't know why. It took it for a quick trip to Advance Auto and
got a basic read -- Cylinder 4 is experiencing misfires. I noticed
a problem a higher speeds (45-60). The car stutters. The owner assumes
the problem has something to do with the clutch....No way.
Now, the key is, how can I do a reality check on Cylinder 4 to learn
if the problem is simple -- plugs or expensive -- new Direct Ignition Cassette.
The car handles fine at low speeds even with reasonable RPMs (up to 3.5K).
It's when it gets to the higher speeds and smooths out -- RPMs and MPHs --
that the misfires or "hiccups" occur.
For the record. I noticed the CEL will blink during the misfires.
Since I have more experience with Classic 900s vs, the newer "old" SAABs,
I sure would appreciate your thoughts.
The price for the car is low enough to justify buying it and hoping it doesn't need a used (salvage yard) DIC.
Thanks in advance!
