I've got a 2001 9-3 base model with 124,000 miles.
I've had the SID repaired twice, the DIC failed before the recall once, and I did the fix #6 on the crank case ventilation system.
The DIC failure took out the catalytic converter which was replaced on warranty.
Other than those four items everything has been routine maintenance.

Oil & filter changes at 6000 mile intervals (mostly highway miles - synthetic oil)
Spark plug changes at 30,000 mile intervals.
Idler pulley, serpentine belt, retorque cyliner head, gear oil at 60,000 miles.
Gear oil, idler pulley and belt tensioner change at 120,000.
Coolant change at 40,000, coolant, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, fuel filter at 120,000 miles.
Air filters every 30,000 miles.
Flush hydraulic system every two years.

I'm still on the original brakes, clutch, struts, shocks and everything else. I've always gotten between 30 to 36 mpg using mostly mid grade gas, but I have tried both premium and regular, and have not seen a consistent difference in performance.

All in all it's been the most economical car to operate that I've ever owned. I think the 2001 and 2002's had most of durability solved, and good maintenance seems to make them last.
