Thanks for replying this is very helpful
So to get this straight, i need to check pin 23 by unhooking the wiring to the sensor in the hub and then place the voltmeter on either of the two pins located there and then slowly rotate the wheel to check for a reading. If there is a reading of 12v then the speedomter sensor in the rear hub is okay and so either the problem is in the wiring going from the hub to the module or the module itself could still be bad -- even though the module repair facility thinks that it is good. I also checked my haynes manual and they state that the ECU can trigger the abs code if the info it receives from any of the four wheel sensors is faulty, but they don't indicate if this could lead to a fault in the speedometer. I hope the problem is not with the wiring, that looks way over my head to deal with.
Thanks
Sean
