I have a 1999 9-3se turbo (automatic). I am having intermittent CEL issues. However, every time my boyfriend plugs in the OBD-2 reader, it doesn't put out any error codes. Obviously, after three cycles it resets the CEL. Why won't it return the error information? Car symptoms: funny idle, periodically the engine smells hot but does not reflect on the dash gauge, all together the car seems to just not run smoothly sometimes. Any one who can help???? Please
