The weather here just got pretty chilly and I started getting a low coolant warning. I filled it up but it seems to be leaking pretty good. I jacked up the car at I can't quite find the source of the leak but I'm fairly certain, after reading many other posts, that it's around the water pump. I don't have a local specialty shop. The nearest is a couple hour drive. Am I correct in assuming that if I do bite the bullet and drive the car up to Spokane that I'll be ok as long as I keep an eye on the level? Also since the cold weather seemed to cause or contribute greatly to the leak.....do you guys think it's the pump or the seals.

If it is too dangerous to drive it is replacing the pump a job that can be done by a backyard mechanic?
