How to attach replacement hatch struts?

After being bopped on the head one too many times on a frigid day, I ordered "genuine Saab" Stabilus hatch shocks from eeuroparts. Does anyone know what to do to mount them on the hatch and body?
When I did the mini van a few years ago, a simple ratchet wrench and socket set did the trick. These babies look like they might just press or pop onto a round stud. Yes? And removal of the old ones? Just pry them off?
Model 9-3 Base five door, 2001, 142K miles and just singing along, with fingers crossed.
TIA
DER
