Compared to the drawing from GenuineSaab, when you remove the wheel & look in alongside the axle, you ONLY see a small area around the axle seal flange. Notice that 5-pointed flange is removed in MY photo, here. You have to move outside of the direct line-of-view to see the plugs, so they aren't visible in my photo.
That drawing was very accurate to my 2001 tranny. ALL 3 plugs were interchangeable with each other. None was a normal hex-head, all were socket head (they use allen wrench). The drain plug is below the axle, the check plug is at about 3:00 oclock from the axle.
When viewed from above, the fill plug is located in a round-ish boss on the tranny. Its roughly below the power-steering reservoir. Un-fasten the bracket for that reservoir & move it out of the way for a better view.
With a hose, you CAN fill the tranny thru the check hole, if you wait for the oil to flow around & down into the tranny. If you fill too fast, it will overflow before the tranny is really full.
