My wife's 97 900 non-turbo convertible has an ongoing winter problem with what appears to be water in the gas. It happened two or three times last winter and now has happened three times this winter. The first two times this year two cans of Heet and sitting for 12 to 18 hours cured it.
The problem keeps coming back and I would like to find a permanent cure. What else could I/should I do? Change the fuel filter, have the tank drained, check the fuel pump relay, etc?
The second time it happened this year, I got it started and limped it in to the local dealer where it sat overnight. The next morning it started perfectly five or six times and didn't show any fault codes.
Please help. We are really frustrated.
