Wow, I remember those days. Mice pissing on and eating stuff. That was all up North though. I have only had one mouse problem here in Florida when I was dumb enough to leave birdseed in an open container on a garage shelf. Then again, we must have at least 8 cats around and inside this house at any given time. I suppose that curbs the mouse population. What I don't get is why they keep killing the poor shrews. They don't hurt anything do they? Cats got an evil streak in 'em. They'll kill shrews like toys, but won't eat 'em because they somehow know they are poisonous. Strange.
Seriously though, about the mice. I do believe the only solution that works are good old fashioned mouse traps. Of course, the best thing is to somehow "eliminate the source" but that would be hard to do if they somehow get in the car all the time. I bet if you left the a few cats in the garage every night with the car that might also help. You probably already know, but use JIFF peanut butter on the traps. It's the best bait. If you can shoot them, use a high power pellet gun if you can't fire off a .22 short or CB in the area. I know my Dad kills full grown FAT midwest squirrels like crazy with a pellet gun. You need a good one though. Get some mouse traps under the hood! LOL
