After recently returning from a ski trip I notice a groan when turning the wheel. I checked the power steering fluid and it was very low. I picked up some pentosin 7.1 from our local VW dealer as I didn't do enough research to realize I needed the 11S kind. Anyhow I thought there may have been a split in the hose where the line from the pump attaches to the reservoir so I loosened the clamp, pulled off the hose and checked it. It was fine so I reattached the hose and added the fluid. Now the groaning is worse and the fluid is all frothy. Is this caused by not bleeding the system? The type of fluid?
I'm not quite sure how to bleed the system. I saw this post: http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/NG900/index.html?bID=77085
Which line is the low pressure line?
Thanks
