Yes, you can but might as well program two remotes to the car, so get two. With the NG900, you can program up to four remotes at one time. You can simply go into the theft system with the tech 2, remove all remotes and then marry any current/new remotes to the vehicle. I do not believe you need an existing remote in order to program new ones like the later 9-3 and 9-5 models.
Not sure, but I think Ron is referring to if you loose a key/remote on the 9-3 where they are married to the TWICE theft unit. On this vehicle along with 9-5's if you lose all the keys/remotes with the chipset that are married to the vehicle then your toast and will be looking at $1k for a new twice and chipsets.
