OK on the timing belt and tensioners.......
You're lucky to have a manual....not many V6s had the manual tranny and I miss that...My old SAAB (the 87 900S) was manual...and oh do I miss that. Newer 900SEV6 seems more reliable and yes...more modern....
For me I replaced the serpentine belt when I had the timing belt/tensioners done. I asked the dealer IF I needed to change the tensioners for the serpentine belt. He inspected them (idler pulley and tensioner) and said they were fine. Most of the posts on here about the tensioners and short belt mod etc. etc. are related to the 2.0 Litre 4 cyl. engine....they do not apply to the V6--a whole DIFFERENT engine with its own pluses and minuses--quirks, etc.
If you have the belt changed at a mechanics or you do it on your own, have them/you check the tensioners--they should be wobbly, crunchy, or move too easily (means a lack of grease)...some mechanics can lift the bearing seals and squirt some synthetic grease in there. If there is any doubt then replace them...otherwise, like in my case, leave them alone...
As fars as manual MTF I'd follow anders suggestion. My old manual SAAB just used regular motor oil in the tranny....now those motor oils have less ZDP in them and older cars don't like it! Follow Anders on that one.
My 95 V6 uses ATF because its an automatic....
