I disconnected the wire harness from the DIC to examine it.
DIC has 10 pins... 2 rows of five.
If I look at the connector, there are little metal slots to receive each
of the 10 pins from the DIC.
But wait... I noticed that on the top row, rear side, there is one metal connector missing! Looking at the 10 pins on the DIC it that means that the top rightmost pin is not connecting!
I assume a faulty connection could cause a P0340?
Can someone please check your T5 cable connector to verify that you have 10 and not 9 of the little metal thingys? (I dunno, maybe it was designed to have one open connex.)
I imagine that replacing the whole connector from the DIC to the ECU is going to cost a fortune/be a royal pain to do myself. Any elec gurus out there, can I push a little metal thingy in there to make the proper contact?
Car running ok, I am going to clear the code this afternoon. We'll see if it returns.
Thanks!
