About the only way you can test the DI cassete is to replace it with a known good unit or remove the 4 screws, pull it off and lay it on the valve cover so that the plugs are grounded to the block. If the engine just died and you don't smell anything burning under the hood, it is probably the fuel pump. The easiest way to test it is probe for +12 vdc in the access panel under the rear seat. There are two plugs - 1 for the fuel guage and one for the pump. Turn the key on, check the fuel level and disconnect one plug. If you loose the fuel level, the other plug is for the pump. If you have +12 vdc to the pump and no pump noise, it's the pump. You can also crack open the fuel line at the fuel filter and see if you have fuel flow. If you hit a pot hole and the car stopped it is probably the pump. You can get a replacement pump at NAPA for around $100 or an entire unit at eEuoparts for $250. Hope you didn't breakdown on I-480. There's no good place to break down on that road... Ron in Columbus
