FYI, my car had a front end vibration that had gotten progressively worse for years. The car has gone through, between me and the previous owner, a couple sets of tires, new brakes, new tie rod ends and bushings, new wheels, and countless tire rotations/balances. I bought new polyurethane control arm bushings back in the fall, and finally decided to put them on this week after the shake got so bad I couldn't take it anymore. I put the car back together tonight with the new bushings and the vibration has all but disappeared.
Sometimes when you get shaking while braking its misdiagnosed as warped rotors when, in fact, it's worn out tie rods. If you took your car to an alignment shop and they told you they can't align it, that's because the front end has worn parts; they should have told you which parts were bad. You may need new tie rod bushings, and possibly outer tie rod ends. If your ball joints are even slightly worn out, you may just want to purchase a new pair of control arms (only way to replace the ball joints); they'll come with new bushings installed. A novice can replace them in a couple hours with a 15mm socket, 18mm wrench, T50 torx socket(I think-could have been T55), a ball joint separator, and a 3lb hammer.
