Is the US the best country for car owners?
Oversimplying selected other countries...
Denmark: Saabs are so expensive. My guess is they are more than double the US price due to taxes.
France, Germany: Car prices are higher, fuel is more expensive. A few cars are available there but not in the US. These include Alfa Romeo, BMW's with smaller engines. The autobahn seems to be in better condition than US interstates.
Japan: Higher fuel costs, very difficult parking in large cities along with very low speed limits. There are some Japanese car versions not available in the U.S.
Australia: not too bad, but not better unless you want to drive a Holden or a Ford Falcon.
The Gambia: Most cars not sold here. Many cars are used cars.
Canada: higher car prices.
Sark: no cars allowed
India: terrible roads and driving conditions. Even Indian made BMW 3 series cost double the US price. However, there's the Tato Nano that is cheap. Gas costs more than the US even though salaries are much lower.
Saudi Arabia: gas is cheap. It's hot though and extreme heat is hard on cars. Driving is supposed to be more reckless.
