I was plagued with wiper rubbers that juddered and skipped their way across the windshield. I cleaned the glass with cleaners designed to remove road tar. I used Rainex Windshield Polish. I changed the wiper inserts (twice). I looked in vain for a tension adjustment on the blades. Nothing worked.
By chance I came across a Technical Service Bulletin advising dealers that the blade securing nuts can loosen. The solution is to use Loctite. I tightened both the nuts and, voila, the skipping and juddering have stopped - wet conditions or dry.
