Well, what have you been using to top it off? Hard tap water? Perhaps you have just watered it down. I believe the specs for your year call for Saab coolant, Zerex G48 (a BASF formula made under license) only available at the dealer. Saab coolant is blue.
What does the oil look like, creamy coffee color or normal?
Leaving a plume of white water vapor out the exhaust when you step on the gas?
No rips in the drive when parked? No oil in the reservoir?
Coolant could be leaking at other than the head gasket. Water pump, hoses (checked for leaks at clamps??), "O" rings at the heater core. Heater core. Radiator.
My '01, 149K, recently started similar loss of coolant Coolant and oil appeared clean, thank heavens.
First the system was pressure tested, with a plug pulled to see what went where in that scenario. Next, tech put dye in the coolant, and later found leak at the O rings for heater core. Small part. Big labor bill. Leak appears to be eliminated.
My coolant has been flushed and replaced a few times before, most recently 120K.
Suggest you do visual on the hoses, clamps etc. If nothing visible, get the car to a mechanic for proper inspection. If there is something getting into oil or a cylinder, the engine could be at stake.
Oh, you might want to make sure there is a proper coolant in there so that the system is not corroding from the inside out.
Good luck.
