Sorry but I'm not good at how to circumvent a proper repair by doing it "the other way".
I never bother with what the sensor reading or position of the sensor is. I just install it and read/change the potentiometer settings with the Tech 2.
If you are very, very lucky, the system might work as is but the chances are slim without entering the new values using the Tech 2.
Did you remember to shim the bronze bushing inside the gear box and adjust the striker plate for emergency latch so that the gear box and motor mesh better together.
Those two things has proven to be just as important as the official reinforcement kit.
I used either two standard M8 Saab washers or one M8 Saab exhaust manifold washer to shim the bronze bushing.
