You have to rig a guage for this, unless you can find a guy with a balancing machine who's willing to waste a lot of time on you.
Jack the front, jackstands. Rig a device as a pointer that just clears the inside edge of the rim. Mine was a couple pieces of angle iron and a large weight to hold it steady. Slowly spin the wheel. Watch the clearance space between the wheel and the gauge. You can visually see any issues. If you are inclined, you can measure with a feeler gauge but you will need a very steady rig to do that accurately.
By moving it from the outside edge of the rim to just inside the rim you can check both round and true (straight). My money is on "out of round".
FYI - bends are almost always on the inside of the rim because it is unsupported.
