I have to say I'm pretty impressed so far--this car is a viable alternative to an Audi. I've always like Subaru Outbacks a lot. But with the 4 cylinders they're perfectly fine until you step on the gas hard and then you're reminded you're in an economy oriented Japanese car. With the 6 all that changes--it's fast, smooth and has a nice snarl when you boot it. The Japanese have really ramped it up quality-wise in the last few years. I drove a new Accord a few months back and was very impressed compared to the 9-5 and BMW 3 series I drove at the same time. Fit, finish, materials in the Subaru are definately on par with the Europeans also. If I wasn't moving to a place where I need AWD I'd still buy a Saab, but I'm not exactly going to feel deprived driving the Subaru.
