Twin turbo V8 with 450 HP and AWD, lots of room in the back seat. Currently selling in the $30k range.
If you're on a budget, the 2001-2002 Audi S4 is a good choice. Twin-turbo V6 with lots of tuning options (like the turbo Saabs).
Currently selling in the $10-15k range.
I would avoid the A Audis as they are the base models (with regard to performance, mostly). Better to go with S or RS.
As for sizes, 4 can be a bit tight (think 900/OG9-3), 6 is a bit bigger (9000/9-5) and 8 is the full size car (think caddy!).
AWD is really a nice feature to have. I can say that I'm frustrated with the Viggen in many areas due to the lack of available traction, especially in the rain and snow. For sure I am keeping it, but for a daily driver, I now lust after a turbo-AWD-automatic. Mostly the RS6...
