My neighbor is moving and I'm buying his 1999 9-3 SE for my #2 daughter.
He's had it since 10K miles, now at 148K, has all the maintenance records, and has had it serviced regularly by the same indy I use. I've seen all the records. Almost new tires (Bridgestone Serenity) and brakes. Shocks done 28K ago. Dino oil every 3K. Everything works fine. Plenty of power, tranny shifts great. Extra set of alloy wheels, great condition inside and out. Nice car. Probably needs a serp belt, probably the tensioner, too. Maybe an aligment
Only odd thing is it's throwing a CEL that comes up as "camshaft position sensor," which the indy says it doesn't have. The CEL goes off after a week or so, then comes back in a month or three. I don't know this engine or about that CEL, so has anyone had this?
Also, does this car use T5 engine management? Is has the red DI, so I assume it does. DI may be the original. I have a spare one for my two 9Ks, so it's no worries on that.
Only "problem" is that now I'll have 3 TSN boards to hang out on!
Thanks!
Noel
