My car is a 1998 900se turbo 2.0 – 125,000 miles

It started fine one morning when it just idled in the driveway – I didn’t drive it - and 1 hour later it wouldn’t start. It cranks but will not start up. I pushed it in to my garage. The code reader said it was the Neutral safety switch. The AutoZone mgr. is a friend and came to my house with the code reader.

I put on a new switch from eEuroparts but that didn’t fix it. I get almost all my parts through them. So far these are the new items that I have needed to change:

Battery – new - bad cell
Alternator – bought a whole new one
DI cassette – has 25,000 miles on this one (old one got 100K)
Correct resistor plugs
Crank position sensor - new
Fuel pump – new
Fuel filter - new
MAP sensor – new, code came up several weeks ago – changed it
Rear o2 sensor – less than a year – code came up

The ‘ck engine’ and ‘ck gearbox’ lights stay on. When I turn the key to the ‘ON’ position to read the blinks on the ‘check engine’ light it does not blink. I’ve checked all the fuses and relays, under the hood and next to the dash. The ECM is connected correctly.

Could it be the coolant temp. sensor, or IAC, or throttle position sensor, or the MAS? The starter is turning over the engine. I’m getting gas on the plugs. Could the new DI cassette have gone bad?
