Engineering is the art of evaluating 'trade-offs' and choosing the ones that best meet your requirements. I agree that torque steer on the Viggen should have been seen as unacceptable and the car should have come stock with LSD. Perhaps that would have raised the car's price point into the 9.5's territory?
All I've read on the 9.3 suggests that the choice of steering rack (GM parts bin) on our cars was a poor compromise and that it's location in the car causes much of the grief.
Although I have a rack clamp and brace, I often wonder what it's long term effects will be....a dead rack before its time since its mounts no longer absorb any shock?
After modifying my Viggen to stage 4, the clamp and brace seemed to have effect on torque steer. A blown transmission gave me the opportunity for the addition of a Quiafe LSD which really tamed things again.
