I have a 97 2.0 turbo -
in 2002 the original owner had nearly everything replaced and I bought it in 04 - in city it wasn't cold at all just cool, but on the highway worked great. Since then the cooling went downhill...
I thought it was holding a charge when I've checked in the past but now since I just replaced the expansion valve and the drier, pulled it down with a vacuum and charged it, no cooling at all even as the high side approached 350 and hit the overpressure switch, the low side rose to 60.
Took it to an A/C expert who says he found a leak using dye in the dash (comes out the A/C drain) and it won't hold any vacuum - I didn't put no O-rings in the valve and wonder if I cracked the evaporator while installing it? The evaporator looks to be expensive, guess i need to take it out of the dash and have it checked?
