Make sure the top works well...probably the most expensive thing on that car that can/will break. Ron was correct in saying that the top hoses and cylinders are incredibly expensive. Check the fluid level in the top pump to see if there might be a leak. Also see if you can drive the car in the rain. I have an '01 'vert and it leaks when it rains...haven't been able to figure it out yet so it is heading to the dealer next week. Very annoying.
Other than that, same rules apply as for a regular 9-3. Best tool to use is the search feature here to find out problem areas. Sludge was a problem, so see if you can get service records and find out if the car was updated to PCV 6.
