There's a lot of talk about the proper spark plugs on this board, as well as the performance board. The general consensus is that NGK plugs are the only way to go, and the copper plugs are ideal. Even the tuners, like Jak Stoll and Nick Taliaferro, who are pulling 500hp out of these engines, recommend NGK copper plugs. The main reasoning is that the platinum and iridium plugs don't provide any performance gains, mostly because of the advanced trionic management systems. So, the only reason to use them would be the extended life, but the cost overrides the longevity savings. Also, there has been talk, probably mostly on performance tuned vehicles, that the platinum plugs cause problems with the ignition system, sometimes leading to detonation.
