2001-2002 have traction control. I think in 2000 they made the pistons stronger. 2000 or 2001 the power went from 225 to 230. I have an 01 Viggen coupe. I really think traction control is very important. I don't see too many differences in reliability between 9-02. But as with any model, they continue to improve things each year for a given model. I drove mine too hard one day and blew a piston and intake valve. I have driven my 9000 aero MUCH harder and done it many more times. The Aero's B234R with 225K continues to be bullet proof. Apparently the B2235R in the Viggen ( and 9-5 aero) is a weak spot. And to me- it's a huge one. Cost big bucks to fix my car.
