A fault code would go a long way to help together with year, model, engine, transmission (even though I now know it is an 01 9-3 from your e-mail).
I would not trust a rebuilt air mass meter first of all even if that might not be the problem right now. It's just that when fighting a gremlin, I start with removing any possible culprits.
Just today, a customer towed his car in because it had stalled but it did start up roughly, barely running on idle. Luckily he told me that the car was low on gas but it should not be empty since it it indicated 9 mile to empty of the computer. So I started my fault trace by adding 5 Gal of gas just to have that out of the way and the car started and ran as it should.
Vacuum leaks can disturb fuel mix, bad O2 sensors, bad splices in the junction for shared ground between the front and rear O2 sensor just to name a few things.
