I recently replaced the blown engine in my 01 Viggen with a supposedly low mileage B235R. Has a minor head gasket leak, (and very noisy lifters). I have to fill the overflow reservoir bottle every 10 days or so.
Has anyone ever tried one of the magic liquid pour in head gasket sealers? It sounds too good to be true to me. But polymers and technology sure have come a long way.
I properly retorqued the head with new style bolts. No change at all.
Replacing the engine, clutch assembly, etc. was within my mechanical ability. But I am not sure about the head gasket. And paying someone is out of the question right now. I will be taking Viggen off the road for the winter, as soon as finish I getting my 97 9000 aero ready for winter. So I could take my time and do it right.
So far, no coolant in the oil. If it doesn't get any worse, how safe is it to continue driving like this?
